Nevada-Las Vegas

Lots of question!

I am finalizing our reception (Firefly), photographer (B&W), Ceremony (COF), Cupcakes (Retrobakery)  transportation for guest (DD Bus). Here are my question:

I am in need of some advice with wording my invitation for the guests we are inviting to view our ceremony live online in Vegas. The other guest will get the normal invitation to join us in Vegas. Has anyone used Firefly for their reception I am booking a private room i just want to know anything about them that you can tell me.Since i will only be using B&W for a 2hr strip tour and won't be able to have him take photos at the reception.I was thinking of buying disposable cameras and having my guests take photos ... Brides that have used B&W before for the 2hr strip tour how many locations were you able to go to for you're  photo tour...I asked them and they said we could get 4 locations done within 2hrs....I am wanting to go to the Belliago Fountains, LV Sign, Mirage, Cosmo.

Re: Lots of question!

  • Hmm I would probably just send one invitaiton and just add something like "for those who can't make it, feel free to watch our ceremony live at _______."

I've never even heard of Firefly or any brides here using it before so I can't really give any suggestions there. Although I just checked out their site and their prices are REALLY good and their food looks yummy. Wish I came across that earlier, probably would have been on our list of potential reception venues lol, especially at those prices.

Tbh I was planning on buying disposable cameras for each of the tables at our reception because 1) Todd won't be able to catch EVERY moment with about 60 people in a room lol and 2) he'll be leaving before our reception is over. I think it's always a cute little idea. Just hopefully no one takes them so you can print them lol or just find out who took them and see if they can send copies.

Can't answer the 2nd question about Todd because, well my wedding hasn't passed yet. Seems like people can get a lot of places in though. I would just make sure to have a list and know exactly where you want to go as it will probably make things go a little smoother and faster. You should be able to get all of that done though, those are all my go to spots minus the cosmo (this is an 'if we have time' spot since we're doing it before our ceremony lol) and then I plan on him taking photos around Caesar's on the way to the Reception since our ceremony is at Caesars and the reception is at Joe's which is in the shoppes and we have to walk by all of the good photo spots anyhow.

Good choices on vendors btw and congrats! :)
  • Firefly is a pretty popular restaurant - i think you guys will be very happy with it. We've bookd it for our rehearsal dinner based on the reviews we read here.

I agree with pp re: one invitation - some people could see it as exclusionary (is that a word?) like, they may feel left out by getting a different type of invite instead of an invite to the actual wedding. But i definitely agree that putting the info for the online viewing is great!

As for the disposable cameras - what about giving people memory cards? Most people have phones or cameras that take digital pics now and if you give them a small memory card in stead of the cameras you will end up with the photos digitally right away? Just a though :) Though depends on how tech saavy everyone is and how many people you are having - may be less hassle to have the disposable for each table

  • I'm a little jealous that you're hosting at Firefly.  It was my first choice but the private room was booked for my date at both locations and the third wasn't open yet by the time I wanted to book my venue.  I bet you'll have a fabulous time!

You could use a group photo sharing website like http://www.seeyouthen.com/ for photos.  Like a previous posters said, most people have digital camera or use their camera phones for photos these day.  You could set up a group photo sharing site and then ask everyone to upload the photos they took during your wedding.  You could send the web address as an insert in your invitations, or put it up on your wedding website if you're  having one, or just have little camera shaped cards printed and put at the place settings at the reception.
  • Oh a word about cameras and phones. I found this app where if you buy some plan with it and let your guests download the app all the photos they take are instantly uploaded to a site for you. I saw it on Pinterest I believe: http://www.bellethemagazine.com/2012/05/collect-your-guests-photos.html

I wouldnt do disposable cameras for the same reasons listed above. Also, I think the quality usually isn't that good. I am using www.weddingsnap.com for photo sharing. It's an app that lets your guests dl an app on their iPhone or Android and the pics are automatically saved to your album. They can also upload pics from their regular cameras on a computer at a later date. ETA: just realized I posted about the same app that Peritmonstree did. But, I'm excited to use it.

  • Weddingsnap looks awesome.  Not sure if that's something we can swing or not.  But then again, not many in my family have iphones or androids.  Something to ponder....

<div>Which plan did you go with? I'm really trying to decide if I want to pay for it or not. =/</div>
  • You made a lot of the same choices we did (CoF, B&W, Retro). I don't think you'll regret any of them! We're doing Freemont and the sign for our tour, if we have enough time I'd love to do Cosmo or Bellagio, but we'll see.

We're not using Firefly for our reception, but are definitely eating there again. Make sure you get the stuffed dates. Yummers!

As far as the invites, I've been pondering that myself. At this point I'm leaning toward emailing the link to those I think will want it  and telling them feel free to share. That way I won't miss anyone, and it seems less like a second-rate invite. (Plus it saves me some time and money.) Not sure if that's really what we'll do though!

</div><div>Yeah, I know what ou're saying about email being impersonal, but I'm torn. I'm still tossing around the invite ideas too. I'm not thrilled with email, but I'm afraid I'll forget people and such, and word of mouth just doesn't seem to be the best idea with a web address. I have lots of time to decide though, and I'm hoping I come up with a better way!.</div><div>
</div><div>We're only having about 15-20guests,depending if people are bringing a date or not. Basically immediate family and a couple of friends that are in the wedding party.</div><div>
</div><div>Our wedding is on a Wednesday, so Todd was willing to book a strip tour in the evening. We might add more time though if the budget allows so he can come to dinner with us.  We'll be doing it starting an hour before sunset so we can have some night shots as well. Our ceremony isn't until 4pm though. Joey Allen seems to do a really nice job as well, so you won't go wrong either way.

<font color="#800080">Yeah i understand! Which chapel are you getting married in at COF? Ok. We are trying to only have 30 guest so we can use the Victorian Chapel and not have to pay and extra $150 for anything over 30 guests?</font>

  • We're doing the Victorian chapel too. We visited CoF on our Vegas trip a few months ago and it was so pretty. I can't wait!

I think you should use an announcement type of wording for the people not invited directly to the wedding and maybe send it out a week before or sometime closer to the wedding.

Also does Todd only work certain days of the week? Does anybody know?

When you went to vegas a few months ago did you try Retro cakes/cupcakes?
