Irish Bride planning Vegas wedding

Hello,

I am an Irish bride planning a Vegas wedding for 2012 (most likely December). It will just be myself and the groom at the wedding! We will have a wedding party when we get back to Ireland.

Anyway, looking for information, advice, recommendations, anything useful at this stage really!!

Ps. What is the weather like in December? And also, will venues and attractions be open over the Christmas period?

    Welcome to the boards!

Check out the sticky post called "Wedding Porn."  You'll find reviews and other information from past brides about pretty much every venue in Las Vegas.

In my case, we were married at the Mandalay Bay chapel and loved it.  The service was great and there was very little fuss regarding the arrangements.  Our reception was in a restaurant in the MB that is now closed, but there are many still to choose from.  You can read my reviews and see pictures in my bios (links are in my sig).

The weather here in December is a little chilly, but that's a matter of perspective.  We're talking 40s-50s (F), which is a lot milder than many other places for that time of year.  And don't worry about the holidays, everything is open at that time.  But you'll have the added benefit of seeing all the casinos decked out in decorations!

    Hope this helps :)

Thanks! We were planning to go to Las Vegas and California for the honeymoon anyway, so we thought why not elope and have a big wedding celebration party when we get home!

This way, we can do exactly what we want to on our wedding day without being under any pressure!

Have been looking through the Wedding Porn thread and getting lots of ideas. Obviously, it is a long while away, but no harm in planning early!

So far, we are thinking romantic ceremony possibly in the The Chapel of the Flowers, then a photographer tour along the stip, then possibly a helicopter ride (maybe to the Grand Canyon), then a nice candlelit dinner (no ideas yet for where) and perhaps a show in the evening (maybe Cirque de Soleil).

That is the vague plan anyway. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. We really want to make this as special and memorable as possible!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I've seen all the Cirque shows. They are fabulous!
