Photography -- Help!

I know that the outside photography questioned has been discussed in several posts, but here's my dilemma & I would really appreciate all input (especially Wynn & Venetian brides). I have a half hour of photography included with my package at the Wynn, and then I booked Todd Wilson for photography around the resort (and also at the Venetian or Cosmopolitan too) for about 2 hours after the ceremony. I know several people have stated that the Wynn will not allow outside photographers on the grounds, but I contacted Todd and he said that this has not been an issue for him at the Wynn, though he has had some issues taking photos around the Venetian. I believe him, but I'm reluctant to keep him for immediately after the ceremony (I may just buy extra time w/Cashman) if it means I'll miss out on some grounds photos at the Wynn. I've only put down a $100 deposit with Todd, so if I have to cancel him it's not a huge monetary loss. Any feedback? Thanks for the help!

as a former wynn bride, there are indeed certain areas that outside photographers are not allowed.....swimming pool area, golf course, casino floor.

Every comment on the board about Todd have always been positive, thus I can't say that you should cancel him....

however, I personally paid additional time for cashman, rights to all my images....and without a doubt, every single penny was worth it. If I could go back in time, I would probably purchase even more time. I love our photographer...besides, your cashman photographer can take you off the wynn property and take you to the other resorts you mentioned and he can probably get pic's of you on those "off-limit" areas

I would ask this specific question to your WC at the Wynn instead of asking Todd. I'm not saying he's dishonest but I doubt he would tell you that he can't shoot inside the Wynn at all. After all, if the hotel gives you a hard time it's really your problem, not his. And besides I don't think he can be 100% sure. I purchased more time with cashman. I know there are downsides but same with outside vendors if you can't shoot wherever you want. Good luck!

My photographer gave me good advice I am doing for my own wedding,"Get everything in writing from the hotel!" Sounds like basic knowledge but we sometimes forget the fine print stuff . I know some hotels ask for a fee if you are using outside vendors. Make sure you get some sort of paperwork stating what they have access to. That way you and your photographer know exactly what you can and cant do the day of the wedding.

Make sure you let every person who works for the hotel that will listen that you're dissatisfied with the ridiculous pricing cashman charges on the photo cd.  Maybe if enough couples bitch about it someone will eventually take action.
