Scenic Vegas Weddings

Hi!

I'm new on here, but I've been reading a lot of posts over the past 2 weeks, and I've learned a ton already!  My fiance and I are going to Vegas to "elope" and we wanted to do something "different."  I don't know how I found Scenic Vegas Weddings, but somehow I did, and it seemed like a fun idea for us.  They have a lot of options to get married at different locations on the Strip.  But we'd literally be on the sidewalk.

...But now, that I'm thinking about it, its making me wonder if its really a good idea?  Has anyone on here used them before?  If so, do you have any suggestions for what was good and bad about having such a public wedding?

We're from Chicago, so I was imagining what it would be like to essentially get married on the sidewalk here, and knowing this town it could either be a fantastic, original experience or a complete and total disaster depending on the crowd surrounding the area.  I think of Vegas as being more "touristy" than Chicago but I'm not sure if thats a good or bad thing?

Any advice from anyone would be really appreciated!!

Rather than focus on a company, where would you envision getting married?  There are typically ten ways to do something in Vegas and there may or may not be better options for you depending on what you're looking for.

I have no experience with the company, but there was a wedding going on at the LV sign while we were there taking pics. It was so loud with all of the traffic, people honking, tourists taking photos etc. I have no idea how the couple managed to concentrate on the ceremony. But if they were happy thats all that matters. It just wouldn't be my taste.

I agree with VG statement above.

Personally, I think that any strip site is going to a bit loud and crazy to really concentrate on your "moment" with your FI. Have you looked into a Valley of the Fire (?) or Grand Canyon tour plan? V. scenic and much more intimate and private.

littlechapel.com (the place I am actually having my ceremony at) does have a few "scenic" package options.

I looked into them when we were first planning and they seemed interesting. They have a page on FB if you're interested. http://www.facebook.com/ScenicLasVegasWeddings

I didn't like that they are limited on the ceremony locations.

Thanks for the info!  I was kindof thinking along the same lines...  It might be too loud.  We just really wanted something kindof different, and his mom is COMPLETELY opposed to a chapel.  I'm not against doing something public, we (and our family) are a boisterous group, but I am worried about traffic and honking.

I'll keep reading reviews and reccomendations on here, I've already learned so much!

    Thanks Everybody!

We came so close to doing the valley of fire package with them but decided in the end that it would be way easier for us and our guests to do the ceremony in a hotel chapel in Vegas. We looked at a bunch of chapels and some are really cheesy but many of them you would never know you're in Vegas chapel by looking at it from the inside.   I don't think I'd like to have the ceremony out in public but that's just me.  It's such an emotional moment I'd feel weird sharing it with whoever just happens to be walking by. It would definately make it interesting though!  We did end up hiring them to do our photography after our Luxor ceremony so he's gonna meet us at our reception and shoot there for an hour or so and the package we got comes with a limo to take us and our wedding party on a photo tour on the strip after the reception. I'm really looking forward to it. So far they've been great and I like that they keep thier Facebook and Flickr pages updated with all the new weddings they do so I got a good idea of the style of photography before I signed on with them. Our wedding isn't until January so we'll see but I'm pretty confident that they're going to be great. Smile
