Vendor recommendations Needed- Topsail/ Surf city/ Wilmington NC

Does anyone have any recommendations for caterers or cake bakeries around the Topsail / Surf City / Wilmington NC area? I am getting married this Oct and we are doing the reception at a large rented beach house in North Topsail. I don't know where to begin. Recommendations for rentals such as tables / chairs / lighting / limo / etc etc etc are also welcome :)

for rentals i would go with L&L Rentals in Wilmington....that is who we are using but my caterer is taking care of coordinating all that for me.

i haven't gotten as far as cakes yet but we have a meeting with Crazy Cake chicks in Oak Island in March....we will most likely go with them, since everything else at the bakery is awesome... and they do travel

most of my vendors all come out of wilmington, check out the vendor section in my bio

I have a rec for both cake and catering. I'm getting married in Surf City in May. Send me an email and I'll send you the contact info. futuremrstickle at yahoo dot com

Catering menu for us is an italian buffet with four different entree choices, salad and bread. tea, lemonade, coffee, chocolate fountain, cheese, fruit, etc. set-up/clean-up for $18/person!

My cake lady charges $3 per slice and a huge variety and super yummy!

Hi...I got married in North Topsail in 2007.  We had vendors from Jacksonville, Wilmington, and Sneads Ferry.  I second the recommendation for L&L rentals out of Wilmington.  We used them and they were great to deal with.
For caterers we used Courthouse Cafe out of Jax for the reception.  We did heavy hor'dourves.  We used Sticky Fingers out Wilmington for our rehersal dinner.  It was a BBQ, Chicken, and Ribs dinner. Both were really good.
You didn't ask but in case you needed one our florist was out Sneads Ferry and she was amazing!  Wendy Wright of A Beautiful Event.  Loved, loved, loved her!
We used Vince Stout of Sea Pans for our ceremony music.  He played all the traditional wedding music on a stee; drum, he was a big hit.
Hope these can help a little.

I second Court House Caffe. Chef Renee is amazing!  She has put together a wonderful tropical menu for our surf city beach wedding in Sept.  I still can't believe how much we are getting for the price.  It is very reasonable and she has been wonderful to work with.

For cakes I recommend Kathy Kanby.  Her cakes are so flavorful and moist.  We met with several bakers with different price ranges, and she had the best tasting cakes by far.  And her prices are wonderful.  It is amazing what she can do.

Both of them are out of Jacksonville.
