Travel and accomadations for guests

I am about 7 months away from my NY to Las vegas destination wedding. Everyone invited is flying into las vegas, my question is am I suppose to block rooms for them to stay in or should they make thier own arrangements? I have found so many more cheaper options booking hotel and flight together as a package that telling people to buy them seperately (even with the group rate ) would probably end up costing them more. Plus there are so many options of hotels and price ranges I rather people make thier own choices. How do I word "make your own arranagements" for the wedding website without sounding "rude" or thoughtless.....

im blocking rooms at several hotels.  that doesnt mean they have to use the room blocks but insures if something comes up in vegas that the guests will have a place to stay at that rate

I would do a block just in case. On your site, I would put something to the effect of:

We realize everyone is traveling with different tastes and budgets, so we encourage all of our guests to book their hotels at their preffered location.....

Something like that...

That sounds good! Maybe ill recommend an airline or travel site too...
