The guys & my picky groom

Ok so I am getting married to a graphic/web designer.  He is the not-so-typical groom and has an opinion and lets me very well aware of his opinions.  My dilemma is I have found to me the hottest outfits for the grooms to wear and its nontraditional and fits so well with the modern laid back outdoor wedding we are going to have in JUNE of 2011.  He thinks the groom needs to be different from all the guys. My problem is HOW?

I want all the guys including FI to wear kaki, brown shoes, a navy blue blazer, and an open collar shirt.  (Ties are a little too stuffy for me.)

Any suggestions on how I can make him feel different than the groomsmen...but yet have all the above details?

Is it better to rent or to buy...I want all the blue & the kakis to be the same shade.

Regarding the above questions...any suggestions of stores or online? We have 7 GM and 6/7 are out of town/state.

The above pic was used as a display at a bridal show.
If anyone is wondering I also added this post to the attire board to get a wide range of opinions :)

Thanks for any suggestions.

I would imagine a blazer would be hot in June unless it's made out of cotton or something.

Usually grooms are differentiated from the groomsmen by their bout, tie color, pocket hankie color, etc.  Maybe you guys could brainstorm together on stuff like that?

Yep I was going to say the bout. Or he could wear a different colored shirt. Or the others guys could just wear the shirt (no blazer) and he could wear the sexy blazer.

I think the guys will be fine in jackets/blazers. They could wear them for the ceremony then take them off afterwards.  Have your groomsmen wear light blue shirts underneath and your FI wear a white shirt underneath.  Mens Wearhouse and Jos A. Bank are large chains that often have Buy X get X free on suits and pants/blazers.  You could organize something like this for them. Also, having different bouts is another good way to differentiate the groom from the rest of the men.

Since you're so far out though, I wouldn't worry about this for quite some time. People could change sizes before 2011.  However, getting organized and figuring out logistics is never a bad idea.

You could have your FI wear a whole kaki suit or some other options are having your FI wear a different colored boutineer or tie.
