Wrightsville Beach, NC Destination Wedding! PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Okay, here's the deal. My fiance' and I had originally planned to get married in our hometown of Charlotte, NC. We have already booked our venue and DJ....but as we got further into our planning, we have gotten bombarded with family issues and added stressors. We have realized that this wedding we have half planned is not the wedding for us and are working to get our deposits back.

That leads us to where we are at now, instead of the original guest list of 75 we've cut it back to a small gathering of 20 and are wanting to have the wedding at Wrightsville Beach, NC. It will only include our original bridal party and immediate family, and since they would be traveling we will pay for their two night stay.

I need ideas or suggestions of places that would be reasonable in price. We're looking to keep it under $2500 if possible for the condo/room rentals. If anyone has ANY suggestions or ideas please let me know. Our wedding is September 30th and I'm sure all of you can imagine how stressed you'd be if you realized two months before your wedding you had to change everything. So anything will help. Thanks so much ladies!!

Gosh that sounds so stressful! I'm not too familiar with Wrightsville, but have you thought about renting a big beach house? Some of the big ones having 7-10 rooms and can easily fit 20+ people. Many of those houses also come with pools and really nice kitchens so you can throw a nice little reception. If you don't want everyone in one house, maybe book two or three that are in a row to keep everyone close. Whatever you chose, I wish you good luck!!!

You have several options at Wrightsville but I'm not sure which ones would be available on the date you need it.
First is Shell Island Resort ( http://www.shellisland.com/weddings.php). They offer more of an all inclusive deal because you can have guests stay at the hotel and they handle set up/food/etc.
Second is havivng your wedding ceremony and reception at the Oceanic Restaurant (http://www.oceanicrestaurant.com/events.html). My roommate got married there last year and they did a wonderful job. You can get married on the pier and then have the reception upstairs. They may have a food minimum but I'm not sure what it is.
Third is the Blockade Runner Resort (http://blockade-runner.com/weddings/wedding-slideshow). This is a very nice hotel and it's also right on the beach.
If you're looking for something not right on the water check out Blue Water Grill (http://www.bluewaterdining.com/events.html). It's right on the intercoastal water way and it's beautiful. They would definitely be able to accomodate your 20 guests.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have anymore questions :)

The last I checked the minimum for the food at the Oceanic is 5000, it could have changed but it seems like that is out of what you wanted to spend. Shell Island Resort is REALLY lovely, but it can also really pricey. I think the beach house idea is a great idea and would be the best way to get your bang for the buck. Check out all of pp's ideas though, all of those places are beautiful! Good luck!
