March 2012 Weddings

Gifts (XP)

So earlier I got a call from FI and the conversation went something like this:

FI: Um, hunny, are we supposed to get gifts before the wedding because a package just arrived.

Me:  Yes, that's normal

FI: But do they know it got sent here instead of to them?

Me: Yes, the chose to ship it to us

FI: So do we just keep it wrapped and bring it to the wedding to put on a table?

Me: No!  If they shipped it to us that means we don't have to lug it to the wedding!

FI: Well we can't open it yet, it just doesn't seem right.  I want to call them and make sure they meant to ship it to us.  Every wedding I've been to people bring gifts.

Me: Well now with online registries it saves the guests the trouble of bringing the gift to the wedding.  They usually ship the gift then bring a card to the wedding.

FI: I'm not sure...

Ugh!!!  Now he won't let me open it so I'm online printing out proof that it's fine!!  His cluelessness is kind of cute at the same time though. Undecided

LOL! I had this same conversation with FI a few weeks ago - EXCEPT I was the one that wasn't sure. He assured me it was ok and I looked it up on TK to make sure! Haha.

Now, we have told family members to use our registry for our Christmas gifts since it has everything we want so I'm not allowed to look on the registries until after Christmas....

  • That sounds like something my FI would say.  He wanted to mail our invitations out in early November for our March 31st wedding.  I assured him we had plenty of time and we shouldn't mail them out till about six or eight weeks before.  It was cute.
  • HA that is hilarious!  :)
