NWR- what a sucky day...

So, first day back at college.  I haven't been a student since I graduated college in 2004.  I've *taught*, but never on the other side of things.  It was... interesting.  I hate to say it, but I know more then some of my teachers.  Not that they're bad teachers, I'm just taking some first year classes but I'm far from a first year student.  And one teacher just went on and on for about 45 minutes about his political views... in a US History to 1877 class!  Um... I'm all for political debates in a political class.  But unless we're talking about who was running against Washington, it's a little too out of context for my liking.  And not that I didn't agree or disagree with him, it just wasn't what I was hoping to get out of class today.

Then FI and I were heading home and we're on the freeway going 50 in light traffic when sudden we come to a dead stop on this bridge.  It was a bit of a jerky stop, but my car has nice breaks and we stopped well short of the car in front of us.  But right when we stop we hear "scccreeeeecchhhh" come from behind us then BAM!!!  We're hit.  I'm sitting in my car FREAKING OUT and shaking like crazy!  Traffic finally starts moving and we're able to get off the bridge to pull over.  I am SO sure that my bumper is smashed because I drive a tiny little Toyota Yaris and the thing is just tiny and looks weak.  Man was I wrong!  My car is a TANK!  It had one tiny little scratch on the bumper- no dents or anything!  The other car was more beat up.

The kids who hit us were students at our college in fact FI thinks he has class with the girl driving.  We exchanged info and all that but unless my car refuses to start tomorrow he's just going to tell her in class that all is good and not to worry about it.  We'll probably be a little sore in the AM but I've definitely been in worse so I don't imagine we'll be too sore.

FI suggested we go get sushi to calm me down.  It worked.  :)

So... that was my day.  Needless to say I'm exhausted and soooo happy I have tomorrow off.

I believe in a lot of things. I believe in fresh tennis balls, the healing power of bunnies, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are something I'll never read. In fact, I don't even know who Susan Sontag is. What is she... like... a painter? I believe in Crystal Lite because I believe in ME. I believe in the movies of Val Kilmer, though these days it ain't so easy. I believe in Darren Sproles, the word "dabble", the first season of "Silk Stockings", and big, warm, moist, gooey chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth and all over your face.
