What are your wedding planning regrets??

We all have 'em, Im sure... so what are yours??

- I wish our engagement wasn't 22 months long.  The timing is good for our lives/living together situation, but jeez its too long to think about things and second guess them.

- I regret the size of my wedding, a little.  Looking back at the list, There were 10-15 people I just felt pressured to invite because they were friends of friends (our whole wedding is 100 people, so that's a decent chunk of our guest list).

- I wish we were spending less so we could have a more luxurious honeymoon.  I don't really regret any of our vendors though, so not sure where I would have cut except the guest list (#1).

so, I'm a selfish hoar, basically.  Your turn!

    1.  I'm in agreement with the long engagement - that's a looong time to spend changing your mind, second guessing EVERYTHING, and learning about new ideas from websites, blogs, photographers, etc...  just gotta stick with your gut and realize the reasons why you chose the things you chose in the first place.

    2. A destination wedding would have been fun.. but then we coudln't invite all of our friends/family, with whom we would like to spend the day with.

    3. I often think about what it woukld have been like to have the ceremony and reception in one location.  At times I wanted to forget the church ceremony, but that's unchangable now.

    4. Maybe I should have waited one more month for warmer weather (which would have taken us to May).

I too wish our engagement wasn't so long.  Ours will end up being 19 months.

I wish I wouldn't have been so quick to pick my bridal party. I want to kick one of them out now (for lack of participation).

I wish I would have let my fiancee chose some of the vendors.  Now I feel like I did everything (but he did get to meet with all of them).

I wish I would have been more picky about our engagement photos.  I hate them ALL.

And lastly... I wish wedding related stuff/service  didn't cost so much! Yell

dittos on the long engagement.  engaged since April 2010 and my wedding isn't until June 2013...b/c FI was working towards PhD (switched to Masters), I picked a later date.  Now I wish we were getting married this summer instead--I actually had a date picked out for this past summer, but neither of us had a real job.

Cost.  I don't want to spend a ton of money, but it looks like I will. Ugghh...I hate spending money.

Me too on the long engagement!   Ours will end up being 2 1/2 years, although only 1 1/2 of it will actually be spent planning the wedding.  We're both in grad school right now, so we had to wait to have the wedding until we were closer to being finished.   I have changed my mind soooooo many times already!!!   I changed my colors four times before finally settling on a color combo.  Lol.   I also keep buying stuff, then finding something else I like better, then I have to try to resell the other stuff.  It's such a pain.  I really envy those with a short engagement.  Haha.

Other than that, I don't think I'm far enough into the planning yet to regret anything else, but I'm sure there will be more eventually!

My FI and I only have a 12 mo. engagement(actually it's short 2 days)  but I sometimes feel I would feel better about it if it was just a month or two longer. I overwhelm my self with stress of getting stuff done.

Finacially, wedding planning really sticks it to you. blah!

I wish I didn't go into hard core wedding crazy mode..example.. My centerpieces are antique blue mason jars. I went on a shopping frenzy and lliterally bought a TON of these things. I'll only use 1/4 of them and have to sell the rest..

Thankfully my FI has kept me semi grounded, I was going to hire a caricature artist and Photo Booth Co. to be at the wedding which I now find highly unnecessary.
