lol. oops. i just wondered, cuz if so she might wanna change it. i think i musta put my snarky pants on today without realizing it! actually, i think it was FI's aunt sending an email inviting us to her 19 yr old son's cake & icecream birthday celebration saturday night (he is 19 and not 9...right? we still do this? and invite everyone? really?). i'm already dreading the guilt that i'll be thrown if i don't attend!

I like some snarkiness sometimes. And I liek ice cream and cake I'll go to the party for you :) But yes, a little much for a 19 year old....

i love icecream and cake as well! i just don't understand why we do this for people that are well over the age of having a cake & icecream celebration. it was the first email i read this morning and i've been irked ever since!

I could use some more snarky to keep me entertained!I admit we still have birthday parties for cousins, even though we're in our 20-30's.  Never a gift giving occasion, just a reason to have cake and ice cream and invite whoever is around.  But my family all lives on the same street so we grew up weird like that.

I am having cake and ice cream on Sunday with my family for my birthday.  ;)  But it is just my parents, grandparents and brother and his GF.  Not the whole extended family.  I did ask my mom at what age do my family birthday parties stop...and she said never!  Haha!

Oh I know what you mean about somehting ticking you off first thing in the morning and then following you around. I was going to book a flight using my frequent flier miles. When i looked 2 days ago, there was a flight on the day I need. This morning I went to book it, and it's no longer available. So I have to fly the next day. I get over that, and then I'm hit with a $50 fee because it's less than 21 days away.#@$&*(@#!I put the reservation on hold and still haven't purchased it because I'm annoyed. But I don't have a better alternative so I'm going to have to just suck it up.

that must be it candice. FI's family (i.e., grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins) all grew up in the south hills, more specifically in south park, upper st clair & bethel. so they're used to being within 5 minutes of one another. they schedule these things at 7pm, and never think to realize that FI lives a half hour away, and works normal hours (till 5-530pm, as opposed to everyone else's 3-4pm days), so for us to get to the south hills by 7pm...we have to haul it. the problem is that the family then puts on the guilt when we don't show up. so it isn't just a "hey we're gonna celebrate so&so's birthday if you wanna stop over!"...even though that's what they say...it's actually more like "we're doing this, get over here, NOW, or else you'll never hear the end of it." this is the same family that still makes their 27 yr old & 31 yr old son's look for their easter baskets. is this at all painting some sort of a picture as to why i get so annoyed at all the things that go on...? but i smile and nod! "yeah FI, go find your easter basket!!! wooohooo!!"

Hahaha, maybe it is the South Hills!  Up until this year (when we hosted Easter) I've had to look for my basket!  LOL!

ugh, karen, that is not cool! i'd be beyond annoyed as well!! and first thing in the morning...it makes it even worse!ok ok ok, see now i just feel bad! i really don't mean to offend, and i really have no issues with cake & icecream birthdays! really, seriously, i don't! i PROMISE! my family gets together and has dinner, or dessert, or whatever we can do, for each of our birthdays. i think it's the fact that we HAVE HAVE HAVE to be there, or else get a guilt trip, that bothers me the most. and the person whose birthday it is never wants to have cake & icecream with everyone in the first place, which makes it even more ackward. it's just all around an odd thing to me. and i can't really grasp why. i think i'm just generally snarky today, possibly without cause. it might be PMS, i wouldn't really know. nobody mind me....*wanders away*

LOL! it has to be a south hills thing! actually KR, i noticed you got married at st valentine. FI's family goes there. our niece was baptized there in march, which is the only reason why i recognized the name. my mom quit hiding easter eggs after she forgot where they were all hidden (and we didn't find them all), she kept making us baskets (which turned into bags once i hit college), then it turned into handing us candy she got 50% off and didn't even split the bag up, and now it's just nothing..lol. she began to realize we just didn't really care if we got candy. in fact this past year we didnt' even see my parents for easter. my mom said not to come back for easter until we have grandbabies so that she can have easter egg hunts again (hopefully she wont hide the eggs as hard then!).

icecream cake would be awesome! but not the kind from brusters..the kind from DQ with the crunchy layer that to this day i have yet to figure out exactly what the crunchy layer consists of...i just know that it's delightful! *passes molly piece of icecream cake*on an even more unrelated note: it was a coworkers bday today and someone brought in one of those cookie cakes. to.die.for.! it was so soft, it was like having a cookie right out of the oven, minus the warmth! mmmmm. it was a huge diet FAIL. twice.

Hmmm...I wonder if DH would get me both ice cream cake and a cookie cake for dinner.  ;)Night, girls!

I wish someone would have a grandchild because we STILL have to hunt for easter baskets!  Poor DH was crawling around furniture with my mom taking pictures.  Yeah that was this year.I do know where Saxonburg is, it's near Butler.  I have a close friend that lives there.  She had her wedding in the gazebo in the park in town.  It was awesome!  I can't remember the name of the reception place, but I'll see if I can find out because it was nice.

I also know where Saxonburg is! Not all that far away. But sadly, no info on Cooperhall. I'll ask my family, though.  A lot of them live in Sarver/Freeport. :)

Here's what my Aunt said about Cooper HallYes, I was at a wedding at Cooper Hall.  It is a small hall, nothing fancy, at Roebling Park.   There is a gazebo (the wedding I went to was held there) and a small museum. So not too much info, but Candice, that might be the same place you were talking about since there's a gazebo.
