DIY floral centerpiece help needed

So this is my centerpiece, I will be using real flowers for the day of, but these falsies are helping me play around to help me figure out what to do. How can I hide the stems AND keep the vase empty and clear like the picture below.


I want it to look like this:


See how you can't see the stems (even though there's that submerged lily)

    or what if you got a piece of the green foam stuff to stick the branches in and then cut the stems shorter? then the white flowers will cover up the green foam

    This is what I was going to suggest.  I'd play with green or white foam (if flowers will actually be white the day of) to see which the flowers cover better (green will blend with stems but white would blend with flowers).
  • I was gonna suggest going with the foam, but a white so that it blends with the flowers if any DOES show through
  • I was going to suggest the foam too. This is what I was told to use as well. It just sits on top and hides the stems that way.
