How long do you think (food question)

a jar of pizza sauce is good after it's been opened and put in fridge? I just opened one last night and was going to either freeze it tonight to use in 2 - 3 weeks, or just leave it there and use it next week. Do you think it would still be good next week?

I think it's okay as long as there's not mold on it (check the lid too).  I've honestly had some not go bad for 3+ weeks and one that I had go bad in 1 week (this happened when I made pizzas this weekend). My guess is that it most likely will last a week though.

As long as its sealed and kept at temp, I think you'd be fine for a week in the fridge.

I'm really, really particular about food shelf life, expiration dates, etc. But it is my understanding that stuff in jars (with seal tight lids) stay good a really long time after opening. I have used a jar of pizza sauce (not can, but jar) that has only been refrigerated and nothing else over two weeks after opening and it was totally fine. I have an open jar of pizza sauce in my fridge right now as a matter of fact!

Thanks. I'm always so nervous about this kind of stuff but was thinking it should last at least a week. Thank you :)

I am such a bad estimator of when food goes bad.  Seriously, this is a skill that should be taught in high school or college.  :P

In the food industry, most things are good for up to 7 days.  After that you must toss it.  Usually at home, I'll leave jar sauces go a little longer.
