So excited to do my first wedding-ish thing with my fiance in about 6 months since we put the deposit on our venue.. Saturday we're going to a cake tasting!

1. What important things should I ask? I know that they have a newlywed program (so they will make us a new top tier for our 1st anniversary included in the price of the cake). I also know that they will do sheet cakes to lower the total cost of the cake.. Anything else major to ask?
2. What are cake prices/slice in your area? I'm trying to figure out what's a normal-ish price range for a slice of cake. Some are outrageously expensive, and I'm not really a fan of fondant so I feel like it shouldn't be too bad?
3. Anyone want to show me some cakes? Looking for classic or nautically without a beach or sand or that kind of thing. white, maybe with sunflowers? or white with blue?
