I'm feeling disappointed and a little hurt, but I'm also feeling guilty for being so egocentric...
My sister is throwing me a shower on May 5th in my city (another on May 27th in my home town). I checked out the evite last night to see who has RSVP'd so far and was rather saddened to see that 2 of my closest friends (the ladies I had drinks/appetizers with last week) are not coming. One of them stated that she has to take her mom for a haircut that day and the other is bringing her son to a birthday party. The invite was sent out a month in advance so I'm not sure why hair appointment trumps your good friend's bridal shower or why the other friend's DH can't bring their son to the party, but I feel a bit upset. Maybe I'm just being an egocentric bride and wanting the attention... I don't want to be "that" bride but I can't help but feel sad about it.
On the up side, I have some old friends who I haven't seen in ages who are coming to the shower; I'm so excited to share this fun time with them!
