Wedding Invitations & Paper

Wedding Announcements

We are registered at Bed Bath & Beyond, and they gave us free announcements, but they are hideous :( Where did you guys get yours?? I need to order them now, since the wedding is in 2 weeks! Otherwise I might just get some plain cardstock and print them out (which I don't really want to do)

Re: Wedding Announcements

  • You don't annouce your registry or print it anywhere.  The appropriate place for those little cards is in the trash.

  • The only acceptable way to let people know where you're registered is by word of mouth.  Tell your immediate family and bridal party, and let them spread the word.

  • Misunderstanding perhaps?I don't mean REGISTRY cards, I mean wedding announcements to send to those who unfortunately were not invited to the wedding. I despise the "Mr and Mrs Smith are registered at" cards, so tacky, which is why I am not using the "announcements" that BB&B gave us. I am looking for actual wedding announcements.
  • Oh!  Much different.  You should be able to get them from whomever is doing your invites.  If that's you, just reword the invite to something like this:

    Mr. and Mrs. Bride's Parents
    are pleased to announce
    the marriage of their daughter
    Baby Jojo 928
    to
    Groom Jojo 928
son of Mr. and Mrs. Groom's Parents
on Saturday, the DAY of MONTH
    at ceremony site
    city, state.

  • Usually you won't have that many announcements, if you print them out yourself. Ditto squirrly that the wording is very similar to the wording of the actual invitation.

You can also try Etsy if you want something pre-made, or even Vistaprint.

well considering I bought a simple invite package from Walmart (which were gorgeous) and printed them on the computer, that won't quite work, which is why I think I will end up just printing some out on plain cardstock on the computer.

Our theme for the wedding is snowflakes, so I will probably do a little snowflake stamp on it or something. The invites are white with a silver border, very simple but elegant, but all the set came with was invites and response cards and their respective envelopes, all of which got used up.

We actually have to send out more announcements than invites since we hugely downsized our wedding (our budget literally disappeared, so most of the guest list did too) and our families have given us a nice long list of people who need announcements.
  • You could just buy another kit if you really want them to match.  Use the invite panel for the Announcement, and the RSVP card could be an "at home" card:

The bride and groom can be reached at
    123 Sesame Street
    Any City, Anystate ZIP
    after Month Date, Year

(the date would be when you get back from your honeymoon or when you get moved in together if you're not already).

  • Thanks for the idea squirrly! When I ordered the invites it was the last package but I just checked the site and they have them again :) Better get a pack before they run out again!!!! They are gorgeous, btw and only $20 for a pack of 50 each invites, RSVP cards, and corresponding envelopes. I highly encourage budget brides to check it out. They are made by Wilton, and we printed them out on the computer, and even my stuffy picky parents thought we had them professionally done!
