Thank you cards to match invitations?

Is anyone else doing this? I think it's kind of cute, but I'm not sure if that would be overdoing it.

I've seen several that do and they're fine. Just know that if you get them with your married name then you'll need to use different note cards for the gifts you get before the wedding. Many brides find that it's easier and cheaper to get plain notecards at places like Target.

I have some cute Thank You cards from Target left over from Christmas (they aren't Christmasy though), but not enough for both wedding and shower. So I'm using those for any pre-wedding gifts. Target is still an option though. I love that store.

FWIW, I used ones from Target and other gift shops. Sometimes even local outlets have great deals on Crane's notecards.

We got TY cards that match our invites.  For whatever reason J really wanted it that way and since I was indifferent towards it, I let him have it.

I do have a pack from Hallmark, and another pack that someone gifted to me (I think from Papyrus) to use for the shower and gifts received before the wedding.

We are almost date twins. I feel like I have so much left to do! 93 things on "the list" (but luckily most of them are little checks) I believe my June friends are waaay ahead of me.

My thank you cards came with my invites. So yes they match by default.

I think it's a personal preference thing.  If you want them to match, go for it.  But it's not necessary.

I'll probably do some on VP to match my color scheme, but not exactly my invites. I used VP for STDs, so they'll probably look a lot more like those.

We're having a relative who is a graphic artist design our invites and then we're having them printed and using pocketfolds from cardsandpockets.com.

Since she's doing this for us, we're going to have her set up a Thank You card design that matches the invites.  We're also going to try to use the same design for table numbers and possibly for escort cards.  (They have a sunflower motif).

We are doing a photo TY card...I made a sign and our photographer took a picture of us holding it at our wedding.  Really there is no real need to have the  cards match your wedding invites unless you really want them to.

Just make sure you get the TY cards out ASAP.  If you received any gifts before the wedding then those TY notes are already late.

Since your wedding was two weeks ago, you have only 6 weeks left to get out TY notes for gifts received AT the wedding.

Remember, your guests want a prompt and personalized note more than they want your photo.

We had TY notes I picked up from Michaels and have already sent out cards for the pre-wedding gifts we received and I'm aware of the timeline for when to send out TY cards but thanks for your concern.

Great!  Often brides will post that they're waiting for the photos to send TY notes thinking that they have 1 year to send them.

Our photographer is sending our TY pic this week ahead of the other photos so we can order our cards.

I had never heard of the 1 year timeframe...that is bonkers!

We did this as well.  We specifically asked our photographer is he could send us a few pictures before the rest so that we could order the cards ASAP.

I think photo ones are so neat! And some people really do think they have a year...I still haven't gotten one from a June 12 wedding last summer! And I know they're "in progress" because I've seen the stacks at her house.

Holy crap! That's insane! I'd be getting angry phone calls from my grandma and aunts for sure. They are crazy about the promptness of thank you notes. Yes, they actually call when they don't receive one within the week...or they whine to my dad, who always calls me and complains. oops.
