Who to invite?

we are having a small wedding, how do i decied who to invite without hurting anyones feelings? he has a very big family and mine is very very small. I don't want alot of people i just want our siblings and our mom and dads, what is a nice way to say i don't want all you step siblings to bring thier whole family, and his side will be filled up while mine is almost empty. advice please!!!!

Send invites specifically to the people you want there. Let the word get out that you are keeping it small.

I agree to set boundaries, sibling and parents only.  Or aunt and uncles but no cousins.  Communicate that you're keeping it small.  But be sure that it's what your FI wants too because if you don't present it as a united front it's going to look like you don't want to accomodate his bigger family.
