Wedding Invitations & Paper

Invite question

I saw on another post that someone was sending an invitation sample to each set of parents to view before ordering. Is this an Etiquette rule I've never heard of?

Also, if the bride and groom are paying for 85% of the wedding, can we word the invite as we wish? I was thinking of using the "Together with their families" because my mother is deceased, my step dad is remarried, and I was raised by my grandparents.

Since his parents are still married, should I put their names on the invite? or just state "together with their families" since there are so many people involved here.

Thanks!

Re: Invite question

  • "the honor of your presence is requested at the marriage uniting" [names here]  could work in any venue, not just a church...

and i think together with their families works great.
