Invite wording help

UK wedding: We are trying to put together our evening reception invites.
We don't want children under 8yrs to attend. How do I word that?

I was thinking...

We are asking that only children 8 and above attend. Thank you for understanding.

What do you think?

Re: Invite wording help

  • Please don't do that!

Address the invitations ONLY to those that are invited. "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith" instead of "The Smith Family". If people RSVP with their kids included, you need to inform them that you are having adults only.

Why is 8 the cut off age, if I may ask?
  • Thanks for the advice! it's always tricky with extended family.
Basically my problem is that my cousins breed like rabbits...a lot of them have 3+ young children and we are on a tight budget. The ones that have older children are all over 8 and they just have one or two. It is a tricky situation.
