Informal Note

What is the purpose of an informal note? Is it necessary to include when mailing invitations?

Re: Informal Note

  • Like a little hand written note from you in the invitations?  I've heard of people doing that when they are inviting someone with a guest or they know the person won't be able to make it to the wedding, etc.  It is not necessary or common.
  • Informal notes are foldover stationary cards with your name or monogram on them.  They aren't included in the invitation.  You would use them for thank you notes if you wanted them to coordinate with your invites.

Yup, this.  Be sure that any you use before the wedding have your maiden name/initial on them and not married.  Also, they should be only ONE person - not both - as you won't both be writing the note on the inside, even if it's written on behalf of both of you.
