Response card timing

I'm going to put a respond by date (worded nicely) on the reponse card, but I'm not sure how many weeks before the wedding date (or weeks before I need a final count for caterer) I should do it.  Anyone know or have a recommendation?  thanks

    Your caterer should tell you when they need a final count.  I'd push that back by a week or 10 days so that you have time to chase down answers from non-responders.

    Find out when your caterer needs the headcount.  It's typically 1-2 weeks out, but confirm this.  Then back up about a week and you have your RSVP date.
