How soon should I send out my wedding invites and what's the latest my RSVP's should be turned back into me? My wedding date is 9/8/12

    My wedding was 9/16 and my rsvp date was 8/5 so I could get the final headcount to the caterer by 8/12--but I could always add more if I needed too, just not subtract anyone.

    Ohhh, and we mailed them out by July 4th b/c we had a DW

    That's our date too.

    We're sending them out on the 14th of July with a reply deadline of Friday, Aug. 17 (which is also the date by which our guests need to have booked their hotel to get the discounted block pricing). We'll start calling people on about Wednesday the 22nd, and let them know if we haven't heard from them by the 30th they'll have to be marked as a no. Our final number is due to our caterer that Friday the 31st.

    If your final number is due a bit earlier, you can skew that up a bit. That gives everyone about 4-5 weeks to respond (depending on how quickly the invitation reaches them), so even if you give them a touch less time that shouldn't be an issue.
