Wedding Invitations & Paper

Wedding Stationary Templates?

I plan to order pocketfold invites and card stock to print and assemble our own wedding stationary in an attempt to save a little money.  The probelm is I am not at all crafty, and am trying to find a website that has templates for matching wedding stationary.  (invite card, RSVP, programs, menu and table number).  Any suggestions?  Preferrably free templates?  Thanks!!

Re: Wedding Stationary Templates?

  • You don't have to be "crafty" to set up templates for paper. You just need a basic understanding of Microsoft Word to do this.

If you don't use MS word a lot, get familiar with it. You set your own paper size, indents, etc, on it. I had no experience with re-sizing Word to fit my various sizes of paper before starting, and figured it out myself.

Open a page on word. Go to "File" tab, then "set up". You can then set your own margins, paper size and layout. You do this by measuring the paper you will be printing on, deciding in advance how much of a margin (blank space) you want on either side, top and bottom. You then enter that information into your sizing options under "page setup".

Type what you want to say on the blank page in the font you choose. In order to get it right, you will be playing around a LOT, just use plain white paper and hold it up to the invitation/RSVP response/program/menu to make sure the typed items are appearing where you want in relation to the item you are ultimately going to print on. I had to change font size and margins several times for each piece I printed before getting it right.

Then, set your paper feed to the appropriate width, put in a piece of the paper you intend to do your printing on, and print one. If it's not right, reset your page set up.

Once I had everything set the way I wanted it, I saved each pre-filled page as a "template", or saved the actually filled in document as "actual invitation wording template", "actual program template page 1", etc. Once you have it saved you can re-use it over and over.

    Hope that helps.
