Wedding Invitations & Paper

Rehearsal invite on the wedding invite

My soon to be sister-in-law is sending out the wedding invites that have all the information on one page and the tear-away card as the response card at the bottom, so there will be no additional inclusions.

She is inviting all the guests, as 90% are from out of town, to the rehearsal picnic in the park the day before the wedding. What is the correct wording that should be used?

Please join us on Friday evening at X for the rehearsal / welcome picnic.

Everyone is welcome to join us at the rehearsal picnic Friday evening.

Any other suggestions?

Re: Rehearsal invite on the wedding invite

  • Nothing but the invitation to the ceremony should be on the invite (reception can be there if it's at the same location).  Anything else belongs on another card.  Really.  I would NOT do this.

  • I'm with Squirrly. If budget is a huge issue, you can DIY cards or have some business cards with the information printed up through vistaprint and enclose them with the invite.
