My FI and I decided on no children at our wedding, other then the RB and FG, to cut back on the guest list. We addressed the STDs to just the people invited, and will be addressing the invites the same way.
That being said, we've already heard from a couple of people that were invited with their husbands/SOs that they would like to bring their child instead, for one reason or another. The STD's did not specify "adult only" and neither will the invitations when they go out.
My FI and I are not opposed to children at the wedding, but budget constraints made us omit them. I am afraid, however, that other people who have children but were not permitted to bring them may take offense and wonder about special treatment.
What is the best way to handle the question? Do we allow it, since technically they were given plus-ones?
