Wedding Invitations & Paper

Wedding passports

Hi there. Well Mike and I are finally looking at tying the knot and finishing this whole 7 years of globetrotting to be with each other (he's in the US and I'm in England).

We plan to have the ceremony and reception in the US, where his family is.
I know about etsy and vistaprint, but keep looking for a good value and good quality website for wedding invitations.

If we could spare enough budget for some amazing invitations, we'd do wedding invitations to look like passports, seeing as we have had the whole long distance relationship going for 7 years. However the lowest price I've found for those sorts of things are maybe $4 each...with possibly 80 guests to invite, that could get a bit too much...

Otherwise we're looking at the possibility of invitations that look like air boarding passes as that would be cheaper. Though the definite preference would have been to have invitations that look like passports, with a boarding pass slipped inside for the RSVP.

So in the meantime I'll keep my eyes open for some new US-based wedding invitations (argh, when i google wedding invitations, it automatically refers me to UK wedding invitations...and they're maybe twice the cost...!)

Anyone able to give me a list of US-based wedding invitation websites to look at? It'd be very much appreciated!

I look forward to chatting with everyone on the boards: I adore reading about the hundreds of personal takes in wedding planning!

Re: Wedding passports

  • Check out vistaprint.com or 123print.com. You can upload your own design, so you might be able to get what you want for a good price! Good luck!
  • That's a really cute idea!  Good luck!
  • Hey, I'm in the UK, too! I couldn't find an option I liked here, so I am DIYing the invites.

Would you consider DIY? I have some templates for boarding pass and passport invites (I considered both options, but abandoned them) that I would be happy to send you if you are considering DIY.

  • Thanks guys!! Yes please, BmoreBride :-D i'd love to see the DIY possibilities!
Thanks for the links, Tabby and missunshine :-) And thanks for the encouragement, Miranda :-)
  • Also check out weddingpaperdivas.com.  I haven't looked at their invitations like this, but I'm using them for something more formal.  If you open a membership through costco ($50) you can save 20% off your purchase there.  It's going to save me around $350.

  • I think boarding pass invites are a great idea!  They sound so cool.  I love creative DIY projects, so I'd really go all out with the travel theme -- passport programs, etc. etc.  LOL
