Wedding Invitations & Paper

Need help with my invite wording

This is what I was planning on:

Mr. and Mrs. Bride's Parents
request the pleasure of your company
at the marriage of their daughter
Sara Whitney
to
Ralee Eric
son of Mrs. Groom's Mother
and
Mr. Groom's Father
Saturday, the eighth of June
at half past five o'clock
Venue
City, State

A few questions: my fiance's parents are divorced. Do I have their names listed correctly? Also, do I put both my parent's first names or just Mr and Mrs Bride's Father's name? (I think my mom would like her name on there but I'm not sure what is proper etiquette.) Also- do we put our last names? Do I have the time worded correctly?

Thanks for your input!

Re: Need help with my invite wording

  • Seconded. Although I would add that I think listing your moms name (Mr. John and Mrs. Jane Brideparents) is the thing to do, especially if your mom would prefer this. I would also list your FI's parents' names. I think it's a nice touch and a friendly thing to do to acknowledge them, even if they aren't hosting.

  • I am planning on cruising from Boston to Bermuda and getting married on the beach in Bermuda July 2014. How should I word the STDs and invitations? I was thinking "save the dates" and put the week of the cruise. Help please!
