Shower/Wedding Invites

Not sure which board to post this on....hope you can help! Should the guest receive the shower invite before the wedding invite or the wedding invite before the shower invite? My shower is one month before my wedding. The bridesmaids are planning to send the shower invites one week before I was planning on mailing my wedding invites. All of us are flexible on our dates to send out the respective invites. What would be proper protocol?

    Well, wedding invitations typically are sent 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding.  All other invites are fine to go out a month before the occassion, so I'd work off those timelines.

    Yes, that is fine. Everyone invited to the shower is invited to the wedding anyway, and I assume the shower-invitees are people who are close enough to you that they'll assume they are invited to the wedding anyway.
