invite wording

I have a question about invite wording.  M&FOB are paying for everything.  Is it rude to not list M&FOG on the invite?

Re: invite wording

  • Technically no, but they might get huffy about it.  And if they do, what are you going to say?  "Sorry, my parents are being named because they're paying?"  Ehh not the best foot to start off on.
  • I don't think etiquette wise you're incorrect, I can't imagine that the Groom's parents will get upset, but they're not my parents... So I guess I don't know.

  • Etiquette wise, it is actually traditional not to include them.  However, including them could be a nice gesture.  If you put "son of ____________" after your fiance's name, it includes them, while still indicating that your parents are hosting.
  • Why not use "togther with their families" and then your name and your groom's name?  That way everyone gets included.Laughing

<div>Because only one set of people is hosting - it's the not the bride and groom with help from both families, which is what this wording implies.</div><div>
</div><div>OP, run it by your inlaws and see how they feel.  It's traditional to only list the actual hosts, but if they act hurt you can add the son of line.</div>
