Printing Issues!!

Hi Ladies,

I know a fellow knottie can help me with this problem. When I did a test run printing my envelopes, the finished result left creases on the edges of my envelopes.  What should I do?

Some background info: I ordered the metalic envelopes from envelope mall. I have an new hp laser printer.

Re: Printing Issues!!

  • It could be just the rollers creasing your envleopes. I'm not sure how to fix this but if they're just the outside envelopes that will be going to go through the mail anyways then I wouldn't worry about the creasing because they'll just be going through the post office machines which might end up creasing and smudging them anyways.

  • Have you tried some other (cheap) envelopes as a test?  I'd practice on other sizes/weights/textures to see if it's likely THAT envelope, or ANY envelope.

You could also try cutting a piece of THICK cardstock and slipping it in the envelope for a little extra stability while it goes through the printer.

  • When you go to Print, select Preferences.  On the first page of Preferences, you can choose a paper type.  Click Presentation Paper Matte.  That should help.
