So I've really wanted chargers for the wedding, but after overspending on some other areas, was pretty sure it was going to be cost prohibitive. One of my friends from back home just got married and sold her chargers to a local party rental spot. The rental place is giving me a 50% discount, so they are in my budget!!! Hopefully they have enough of just black or just silver (she alternated black and silver).

I just got extra dinner plates to pre-set on the tables. Saved myself about 75% of the cost of chargers and no one could tell the difference. HTH someone!

Great news! I didn't use them since I had a buffet, but looking at the price of them in stores like BB&B and Target...yikes, that could really add up!

That's great since it's something you wanted. I'm sure they'll look beautiful at your wedding. That was one of the great things about using a restaurant. All of the chargers/plates/glasses/linens, etc were already included in the price.

The chargers were the only thing not included in our package as far as tableware. Just as frivolous as chair covers, but they were on my wants list. Makes a rainy day a little better!
