Programs...

I am so confused as to whether or not Programs are important in a wedding?

I have been to more weddings with them than not, but I just want a little help with it. If it is important, then where do I even start?

Re: Programs...

  • Are you having a complicated or long ceremony? If so, guests might appreciate them. We're having a full Catholic mass, so we're doing programs so that our non-Catholic guests can have some idea of what the ceremony entails and can follow along a bit.

Some people like them just as a way to list the wedding party and they keep the ceremony aspect shorter.

They're not necessary at all - it's up to you whether or not you have one. Many will get left behind by guests or thrown away after, so if you do get programs I'd suggest getting one per couple/family, one per single guests, and then about a dozen extras just in case. You probably will still have leftovers with that method, but it's better than doing one per person :)
  • You don't need them but I am doing them (mainly for me as a keepsake and for my family who are traveling from oot and won't know some of the people in the wedding and like to hang on to stuff like that).  I am not printing a lot though. I like the one per family/singleton idea.
