Invites and STD's QUestion

Ok, im sure this queston has been asked a million times but here it goes. If my wedding is in August how soon should do my STD go out and when do  I mail out my invites. Also are save the dates a must or necessary?? Thanks in advance ladies!

STDs go out 6-9 months before the wedding but they are not necessary. If you do send them out, make sure that everyone who receives an STD also receives an invite. Invites go out 6-8 weeks before the wedding.

Yep, I've heard 8 months is pretty standard.  STD are MORE important if you are having a destination wedding and need to give people ample time to prepare travel arrangements.  Hope that helps!

Wait until after the holidays to send out your STDs. My wedding is in August, too... I'll be sending them out after the new year.

My wedding is also in aug and I am sending them out in January after the new year too.
