Wedding Invitations & Paper

inexpensive, pocket invites

My fiance and I are planning a small (50 people) destination wedding and I REALLY like the look of a pocket invitation since there will be a handful of other cards- accommodations, response, directions etc- in the invites.  I found a fairly local guy who does DIY pocket invites, but the price is adding up.  Has anyone else found an easier, inexpensive option for this?  Thanks for any help you can give!

  • Thanks for that site... it looks great!  I'm excited to sit down with the fiance and see what he thinks.  Did you print them yourself, or did you have the company print them?  And you said that you ordered 75 enclosure cards- did you cut them yourself so that they layered better in the card?  Thanks! :-)

  • We got ours at Paper Source when they were having a sale. I really wanted a diagonal folder on a square pocketfold so that's why we had to go with Paper Source. I'm so glad we did...I am absolutely 100% in love with them!

I know that Paper Source is normally kind of expensive, but ours were actually much less than everything else we priced because we waited for the sale. We got all of the paper, envelopes and enclosures for everything from our Save the Dates to our Thank You cards for about the same price we would have paid for just the pocketfolds.
  • I got mine from cards & pockets. I just ordered the 8.5 x 11 paper and cut & printed it all myself.
  • lovethebeach, I have no idea what your printer budget is, but I got this one a while back and LOVE it.  However, it will not print properly on 110# cardstock.  Just an FYI.

They have a non-wireless version, too, that's about $50 less, and Office Depot/Staples sometimes run it on special.  If you're just using regular cardstock, it's AWESOME.

  • Oh, and OP - I ordered from cardsandpockets.com when they were running a sale and got all my materials (including the heavy cardstock that OfficeMax is now printing on for me) for $180.  For 75 invites, and still enough for programs, menus, escort cards, etc.  If you dropped the white cardstock and went with cheapy stuff it would be even less.  And easier to print.

And - there are templates for their Signature pocketfold in my bio.

  • I'm ordering mine from paperandmore.com and they ended up being a bit cheaper than cardsandpockets.com (and they had the colors I wanted) I signed up for their mailing list and receive info on sales they have and if they had my colors I would have definitely ordered from them.

  • I agree with caseyandlizzie. I've found that paperandmore.com is the least expensive.

[QUOTE]Squirrly: having OfficeMax print yours, is the price comparable to what Cardsandpockets would have been?  I'm just not sure I trust my printer to do all of them, and I'm slightly too much of a control freak to have C&P print them lol.  SOOO many questions!  Thanks for your help ladies :-)

I'm not sure what the C&P print price would have been.  Mine are color on the front and b&w on the back of one page (one per invite, includes the invite & 2 inserts), and then color on the front of a separate page for RSVPs - 5 RSVPs per page.  It cost me $50 at Office Max to get them printed.  If I had done all b&w, it would have been about $14.
