How do you mail save-the-date matchboxes? Help!

K, fellow brides . . . I love the matchbox idea for save-the-dates, especially since me and my honey met online on Match.com. However, I do not know how in the heck you mail them. One, does the post office allow it. Two, what do you mail them in. Help!

  • They are (obviously) flamable so I would stop by the post office and ask about it before ordering anything.

  • Maybe you could still do the matchboxes, but without the actual matches in there? If you wanted to put something inside, perhaps you could put in a small trincket or a photo of you and your FI.

But, like the PP said, I would definitely check with the post office first before sending or ordering anything.

  • I'm pretty sure only safety matches can be mailed through ground service.

Maybe you could just make your Save the Dates in the form of a matchbook? Kind of like this (link).
