Wedding Invitations & Paper

Website on invitation?

Can I put the website on the actual invitation? I'm not having a formal wedding so I just have the invite and RSVP insert. I sent out a save the date to people who will need to travel which contained the website, but I wanted to share it with everyone.

Heres the layout of my invitation:

Parents
Invite you to share and celebrate
At the marriage of their daughter

NAME
to
NAME

Friday, the tenth of August
Two thousand twelve
five o'clock
City, State

Reception to follow on
Reception site name
Street
City, State

For more information please visit

Also, if anything else is wrong or should be changed on there please let me know. Thank you!

I would probably do a separate insert for reception info, and that's where I'd put the wedding website.

Also, I'd omit the word "at" at the beginning of "At the marriage of their daughter." It sounds better without it. Plus, since you have a compound verb (it's essentially saying they are both sharing at and celebrating at the marriage), I don't think "share at" sounds right. Saying you want them to share and celebrate the marriage sounds better, at least IMO.

  • We're also adding a small insert card with the web site and our contact information for people to RSVP or get in touch with us if they have questions.  Instead of having it professionally printed with everything else (which would have been WAY pricey) we got DIY post cards at the office supply store/department and printed them out on my laser printer at work so the printing quality was a little nicer than ink jet at home.  Fiance designed a map of the vicinity of our venue on the back of the card so people will know where to park and where to go from there -- our venue is a riverboat docked in the French Quarter and not someplace we could have given a physical address, and there is public parking nearby but nothing specifically designated for passengers on the boat.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • vistaprint has a good deal on business cards. Just something cheap and small should suffice
  • Our invitation is a seal and send... no envelopes just a long invitation with a detachable response card.  Since we can't put in any inserts, we put our website right on the invitation. It says, "For directions and accomodations, please visit" with the site on the next line.

If you have the room, I think it is ok.
  • We put ours on the RSVP card, that worked better for our invites.

  • Thanks everyone!

I'll change the wording around. Invitations was one of the first things I looked at and I think I just filled in the blanks, and never really payed attention to the wording. I've just been slowly working on them but now its getting close to actually getting them!

The ceremony is on the beach, so there isn't a specific address for it. Should I just put the city and state? I'm doing a shuttle service for everyone that picks them up at the hotel and brings them everywhere for the night.

Also, this is more a style questions... My colors are blue and orange. I was thinking of doing the invitation blue and the rsvp orange and they are both the same pattern. Should I do that or just do all blue? Ah sorry for so many questions, and thanks for all your help!
