Cards and Pockets - Blue or Sapphire

Has anyone ordered any of the blue colors from Cards and Pockets? I am looking to get the blue or sapphire pocket folds and was wondering if anyone had seen the colors in person.  I know you can order samples but if someone can give me more insight about the color instead, that would be great... My wedding colors are cobalt and kiwi so I really wanted to do the pockets in Cobalt! Thanks ladies!

Re: Cards and Pockets - Blue or Sapphire

  • I have the sample packs (the regular line and the extended line) at home, so I'm going from memory. The "blue" is matte, while the sapphire is metallic. So it largerly depends on whether you want sparkly paper or not. Neither color is really close to cobalt.

Honestly I think addressing the sapphire would be hard-I don't really know what color would should up well, you would have to go with white ink or a very very bright silver.

I'll look at them again tonight when I get home!

I have the sample pack as well from cards and pockets. The cobalt and sparkling sapphire look very similar (with the sapphire being slightly sparkly) until it catches in the light and then the sapphire looks like a bright sparkly blue.

Here are two pictures to show what I mean

  • Hi there! Cobalt is one of my wedding colors as well, and I ordered samples of both the blue and sapphire paper from Cards and Pockets. While both of them are very pretty, neither of them are even remotely close to cobalt. The sapphire was very dark, almost navy, and the blue was a matte, lighter shade of blue. I found some very pretty cobalt/royal blue paper and envelopes on www.paper-papers.com. I'm not sure if they sell assembled pocket folds or if you would need to make them yourself, but the color was very accurate. Hope this helps, and good luck :)

  • Also, I have seen pocket folds at Paper Presentation that are much closer to cobalt than C&P. They are a few cents more expensive than C&P though.

  • The best thing you can do for yourself is order samples of everything you're considering purchasing. The samples are very cheap and ship free. It's worth it just to have a physical sample to look at.
