Our wedding is going to be an evening event with a seated dinner. FI insists it be "black tie preferred" as it is a very formal wedding (if he truly had his way it would probably be white tie, but I think that is absolutely excessive). Is it appropriate to include this information in the bottom right corner of the invitation or should I just put attire information on the wedding website and leave it at that? I don't want to make my guests feel like I don't trust them to dress themselves, but at the same time I like it when a bridal couple offers me some clues as to what to wear to their wedding.
