Wedding Invitations & Paper

Invitation Wording

My fiance and I are having a formal wedding, but it has lots of off beat touches. (Our theme is the Princess and the Rockstar) It's a seven, and both of our parents are contributing to the wedding. I have read lots of wording, but it all sounds cliche and kind of cheesy to me. Any suggestions on where to find unique wording, or how to create unique wording for invitations??

Re: Invitation Wording

• You should be unique with the design of the invite, rather than the wording.

You said - "it's a seven" - did you mean it's AT seven? as in, seven pm? Or something else?

Is it in a church or not?

Is it formal or casual?

• The wording of the invite should tell your guests how to dress AND what to expect at the wedding. If I were you, I'd go for an awesome graphic design that conveyed the feeling of the wedding, but use very traditional wording. So, to answer your original question (although paying =/= hosting, this assumes both sets of parents are hosting):

Mr. and Mrs. Bride Dad
and
Mr. and Mrs. Groom Dad
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their children

Bride
to
Groom

Saturday, the eighth of May
two thousand ten
at seven o'clock in the evening

[QUOTE]Yes, I did mean it is at seven pm. haha. His dad is a pastor, so we are getting married at his church. It is a bit formal, I have a cathedral train and my bridesmaids are wearing floor length dresses. My groomsmen, however, are wearing low top converse with thier tuxes, and the reception afterwards is buffet style. (I dunno if any of those details play a part in invitation wording though...haha)

Good. I thought I was getting old and lame way too fast.
