Wedding Invitations & Paper

Wedding Invitations Problem!?

I ordered my invitations online through a not-very-well-known online retailer. I made sure to do research beforehand and they had pretty good reviews. Their price was much cheaper than most I had looked at and I found invitations that were really pretty. Here's the problem: When the invitations arrived yesterday, they were perfect in all but one way. They are only a single piece of paperstock. When I say this, imagine the front piece normal wedding invitation and a blank back. That is what my wedding invitations look like. The lettering, color, etc., is all quite pretty, but I just don't know what to think about the invite. We're having a semi-formal wedding that is very non-traditional, but I'm not sure if this will be pushing it too far and I'm not even sure if I like them. I need to order new invites today if I change my mind. Are these invites tacky, is this acceptable?

Re: Wedding Invitations Problem!?

  • I'm very confused.  Every wedding invitation I've received had a blank back.   Can you post an image?
  • I think you mean that you want a nice colored cardstock as a backing to the white invite, right? You can add that yourself and even add a ribbon somehow to dress it up. Just make sure it still fits in the envelopes.

  • do you mean its just one piece of paper not a traditional folded invitation with a blank inside?  Most invites available are not folded anymore (unless you get really expensive).  Your guests wont' notice and I'm sure they are beautiful and you got a great price!  You could always add a small blotting paper sheet into the envleope to make it seem more formal
