Wedding Invitations & Paper

Wedding at private residence; have no address! How do I word invites?

I'm getting married at a family member's home, and he lives in the middle of nowhere. Most of my family, including myself, are used to the difficulty in finding our addresses on google or any other map services, and his is literally impossible. He only uses a P.O box for mail and has nothing on/near his home indicating his physical address. He also won't tell me his address, because he says it won't do any good anyway. (This makes sense for obvious reasons)
But, this makes it hard to word my invitations and let guests know where it is that we'll be getting married.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! (:

  • Yes, I have the road number and several highly identifiable landmarks. It will be easy to find (at least, if you can spot a huge windmill, it should be!). I thought of simply using his name, but my fiance was determined to use an address I can't obtain.
Thank you for your suggestion, I'll probably end up just doing it the easy way and using his name!

  • Yeah I like the idea of saying "The Jones Residence, City, State," and then maybe you could include an enclosure card with a map providing directions from a major highway/Interstate.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • I would call it the Jones Residence and DEFINITELY include a map or at the least very detailed directions on one of your enclosures.

Also, I understand that he thinks the address won't help, but I don't see why he can't just tell you the address. Even if you do a map and directions, I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to find this place using just landmarks. I have family that lives in the middle of nowhere and even though their addresses look really strange, they do help when searching for directions online or anything like that. I would get the address and put it on your wedding website and on the directions card.
  • I wouldn't feel comfortable driving somewhere without an address.  I understand it's in the middle of nowhere, but that's even more of a reason to have a street name or something.  Maybe I'm missing something here, but couldn't people put the address into their GPS and it would take them right to it?
