Wedding Invitations & Paper

What printer do you use?

I'm thinking of DIYing our invitations so we can put what we would have spent into other areas of our budget that we want to splurge on a bit.  I'm just in the beginning stages of researching and figuring out what options are.  I've gotten a TON of great ideas just by lurking here for a while.  I know that the printer I have now won't print on thicker papers, we've fought that battle before.  Sooooooo:

What printer do you have/recommend for printing invites?  How does it do with thicker papers?  Odd sizes?

Re: What printer do you use?

  • Well, mine will handle up to about 60 # stock, but it won't handle the 100# stuff.  OfficeMax will, though.  :)

  • I test printed invites and just printed about 40 table numbers (I messed up the first batch, oops) on the 100# Snow White cardstock from Cards and Pockets, and my Canon Pixma mp620 handled it like a dream.  It just had ot be fed from the rear tray rather than the casette so it didn't get all bent out of shape.
