Wedding Invitations & Paper

Invites formal enough?

I have already purchased my invites from Michael's and they are a DIY kit.  I really couldn't find anything else that I fell in love with and fit our theme as much as these do.  Our theme is lavender and colors are lavender and silver.

After reading the boards and realizing that the invitation dictates the formality of the event I am kind of worried these are not formal enough.  We are having our wedding in a Catholic church with a traditional mass so I think this will help add to the formality.

I was wondering what would you think about the wedding if you received this invite?

Also, they come with pre-tied bows and pre cut strips to put around the invite to stay in place.  I was thinking about cutting and fixing new bows to put on the invites in a shade of lavender because they came with soft yellow bows and ribbon.

After doing so I realized I am so bad at making bows and all that so I was wondering if it would be okay to go with the ones that came pre cut and made for the invites in the soft yellow.

Thanks you!!

  • Those are pretty, and I think they're formal enough.  The yellow ribbon is fine, too, but if you really don't like it, you can replace it easily enough.  Instead of tying a bow, you can tie a square knot (right over left, left over right) then trim the ends.  Instead of a bow, you will just have a nice knot with ribbon tails that go left and right.  I recommend www.papermart.com for ribbon in bulk.

  • Thanks ladies, yes traditional wording and everything. I just wanted to hear from some ladies about it and see others opinions.  Glad they are as nice as I thought because I already bought em!
