Wedding Invitations & Paper

Help me with wording please

Here is the low down:
We are paying for our own wedding. My family is a mix of divorces and marriages, and actually my former step dad (Mom has since remarried) is like my real dad. FI's family is his Mom and deceased father.

I have no idea what the wording should be on our invite. Like- at all. Any advice?

Re: Help me with wording please

  • Perhaps this will help, although it may be too general for you. Our invitations will read "Together with their families, Carol Johnson and Tom Barnes invite you..."

We also used "together with their families" on our invitation. Here's the full wording:

    Together with their families

    Bride's Full Name
    and
    Groom's Full Name

request the honor of your presence
    at their marriage
    Saturday, the fourteenth of January
    two thousand twelve
    at two o'clock

    Church
    Address
    City, State
  • How am I so dense on this?

The together with their families sounds great. Thank you both so much.

I think I was trying to overanalyze and get a little too creative with this :)
