RD invites?

Are you supposed to make invites for the rehearsal dinner? Just saw this mentioned on another board and never thought about it.

    I think it's nice to have an actual invite sent for rehearsal dinners, but if you are having a very small RD word of mouth could be fine as well. Some people include RD inserts to certain people with the wedding invitations, but I think that sending a separate invite makes more sense.
