Reception Card Help!

I need to include all of this information in my response card and my head is spinning trying to figure it all out!

1. Adult Reception (I know it's tacky but if anyone knows a polite way of how to say it)
2. Cocktail hour begins at 6
3. Dinner begins at 7
4. Reception Information
      Salvatore's Italian Gardens
      123 Main Street
       Buffalo, N.Y. 12345

And if anyone knows of a cute saying such as "Join us for dinner and dancing..."

Re: Reception Card Help!

  • There is no need to tell them what time cocktail hour/dinner starts.  SImply put "reception to follow" and then the address.

For adults only, you put the names of the people invited on the envelope, and leave the children off.  If people try to RSVP for children, you call and politely explain that the invitation was only for the parents and ask if they'll still be able to make it.  You can also put names on the RSVP card to help.

People know that an evening reception will include dinner and dancing.

Agree with PP about putting the names of the people invited, as opposed to "The Smith Family".  My mom likes the phrase "Cocktails, dinner and dancing to follow".  I ended up doing Reception to follow b/c I thought it looked better on the invitation itself. Check out online invitation sites for inspiration, too.

Also agree with PP, you don't need to list when dinner starts.  Just put the time the cocktail hour starts; people will get the message!

Also, do you have a wedding website? I posted the start time for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception on there so people have an idea of the format of the wedding if they care! You could also post adult reception on the website as well-- I've seen that before. HTH!
