Gold stamp ink taking too long to dry on shiny invite paper

Is there anything I can do to expedite the drying process, other than embossing? I have shiny smooth opalescent paper and the ink is slow drying to start with but it also doesn't want to absorb into the paper. It's been about 10 days since I stamped and it's still coming off on my finger when I touch the paper

Hope someone can help.

  • At this point I don't think it will ever dry. You'll probably need to emboss or use a laser printer.

  • Pigment ink (which is what you are using) won't dry on a coated card-stock.  You need to either change to a dye-based ink (a problem if you want gold) or get an uncoated paper (not shiny) or you have to emboss.  If you do emboss, get a heat gun (not a hair dryer!) and I'd recommend a fine (detail) clear embossing powder.  Good luck!
