AW: F/U on yesterday's PT

So, physical therapy was great, but the PT pretty much agreed with me that 1/2 of my problem now is that I gained too much weight since I broke my foot. My tum is sticking out and straining my back (literally - sigh). :P She said that the way I was walking with the boot also hurt my back, so it isn't all the chubs. Gotta do homework exercises to strengthen the back and the ab muscles. I'm also going back to the gym starting tomorrow to do elliptical work and yoga. Why couldn't it be a dang slipped disc instead of my love of french fries?!

Ditto Jenn! French fries are one of my weaknesses (along with baked goods!)! At least it's not surgery and it sounds like it's very treatable! And woohoo for yoga! My yoga class is tonight...I find I look forward to it all week! :-)

I hate it when french fries are the culprit.  And they're sneaky about it since they themselves are skinny.Good luck with the PT and the gym!

On the bright side, maybe as you start to get better and stronger you can start going back to some of your fun gym classes. Working out is always better when you can laugh and have a little fun!

I'm glad it seems to be an easy fix- GL with the gym tom. I've thought about trying yoga, but never have.

LOL, Colleen!  Molly, I'm glad it's something treatable without surgery or something!  Good luck with your attack plan.  Have you ever tried/considered pilates?

Yeah, I've tried Pilates. HARD! But seems like a good idea for the type of work that I need. I'm gonna try both the Yoga and Pilates classes at the gym. :)

Oh good, I hope you like it and it gets a little easier!  If you're ever interested, I can recommend an amazing pilates studio in Pittsburgh that also specializes in working with people who have injuries or chronic conditions.  They were (and are still) a big help for my mom, and I used to train to be an instructor there waaaaay back when :)
